Internet pioneers and mainstays.

Established in 1995, just as companies began migrating online, Kinetic Communications provided consulting and development services to early corporate adopters of digital marketing and multimedia.

Kinetic was the first studio of its kind within the state and surrounding areas to offer in-house development and integration of three electronic media: Internet applicationsvideo production and interactive programming. Founder Jay Brandrup named his new company Kinetic, inspired by the energy of movement, both physical and psychological. From the beginning, Jay’s healthy respect for incorporating “fun” attitudes and atmosphere into the business has nurtured growth and success.

In the wild years since, the Internet has boomed, busted, and resurged again. And Kinetic has consistently flourished, helping a range of corporate clients with their interactive needs — from Alabama Power to Zkano. View a full client list.

From a desire to contribute to the greater Birmingham community, Kinetic works with the City of Birmingham, the Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau, World Games 2022, among others, promoting Birmingham through web design and development. Other notable non-profit community projects include the Alabama Ballet, Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, The Arc of Central Alabama, Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Birmingham Museum of Art, Birmingham Zoo, Children’s Harbor, Children’s Hospital, Community Grief Support, Disability Rights and Resources, King’s Home, Lakeshore Foundation, Magic City Art Connection, McWane Science Center, Monday Morning Quarterback Club, Negro Southern League Museum, Railroad Park Foundation, Ronald McDonald House of Alabama, Rotary Club of Birmingham, Sidewalk Film Center and Cinema, Sight Savers America, Smile-A-Mile, United Ability, and Virginia Samford Theatre among others.
