Channel
Welcome to Channel K.
Since we couldn't be general managers of our local television station (or even get a cable access show like Wayne and Garth), we decided to start our own channel here. Programming will vary with a new post periodically about best practices for web design and usability, useful tips and tidbits for clients and our take on topics that get us on our soapboxes. Sound good? Feel free to subscribe via the blue box at the left to receive the newsletter version of Channel K in your inbox.
If you've been here before, you'll remember Channel K as our online diversion, playground, garage and research laboratory. That's still the case. Links to our extensive collection of games, demonstrations, proofs of concept and cool (but useless) toys are to the left. We'll continue to post those as well for your enjoyment. One warning - Channel K requires all the latest and greatest browser plug-ins. If you have the goods, come on in. We'll try not to crash your browser.

It’s like trying to bake a pie with no crust, bread with no flour, well, you get the idea. And if you’re a designer charged with promoting the City of Birmingham, a dearth of quality images leaves you cooking an omelet with no eggs.

Yahoo announced this week that Microsoft's Bing now powers all of its U.S. and Canadian organic (non-paid) search results. The Bing engine will now account for 28 percent of searches, compared to Google's 62 percent.
For businesses actively optimizing their sites for search engines, this merger has some implications. First and foremost, the "big three" are now the "big two." Wow, thanks for making it this far. Either you think Kinetic might be able to help your company or you find the site somewhat entertaining so far.
We noticed that much of what we share in our introductory meetings with clients wasn't already on the website and asked ourselves why. Since we didn't find an answer, here we (and you) are.
